Inculcating Gratitude

Focusing on ‘what’s right’, not ‘what’s wrong’

Be thankful today!

We all surely have come across this phrase on more than one occasion. Life has its highs and lows, but the one thing that stands true no matter where we are, is that there are always many things to be grateful for.

It’s easy to be thankful when things are going your way or when you don’t need to take too much effort in showing your gratefulness. But when the going gets tough, the mind has a natural tendency to focus on negative aspects such as ‘what’s wrong’ or ‘what’s not enough’.

While it is understandably more difficult to have an attitude of thankfulness in negative situations, we must consciously remind ourselves to look for ‘what’s right’ in our lives instead of ‘what’s wrong’. AndFocusing on ‘what’s right’, not ‘what’s wrong’ that is where gratitude comes in.

Being grateful is one of the most important ways to make your life positive and stay positive. No matter how difficult or challenging a situation may be, don’t forget to look around you and be grateful for what you truly have.

As human beings confronted with challenges on almost a daily basis, we naturally have a tendency to think that the grass is greener on the other side. Let’s not forget that each one of us have our own burdens to bear and that it’s not fair for us to believe we may not be as fortunate. This is never the case.

So let’s adopt an attitude of gratitude and sow the seeds of positivity!
