Inculcating Gratitude

It’s her gratitude that won me over!

A perfectly happy Monday morning, I was busy planning my day at work and meeting with colleagues after a short weekend holiday. While more than half the day passed without any glitches amidst multiple meetings, it was the evening I was looking forward to on the occasion of my five-year old cousin’s birthday. As luck would have it, my aunt who was almost in tears frantically called me early evening. She mentioned a small incident that had caused the prepared birthday cake to have fallen off the table just a couple of hours before the party.

It’s her gratitude that won me over But of course, I had to come to her rescue! Considering baking is my favourite hobby, I quickly seeked permission from my boss to rush home and bake some lip-smacking choco-strawberry cake. Yes, I did manage to save the day and the party, but it was my aunt’s gratitude that truly won me over. She handed me over this beautiful hand-written note of thanks that took me by surprise.

Not only was I overwhelmed by her gratitude, but also the relief and uncontrollable smile on her face made me feel like a happier person. This personalised note touched a chord somewhere, and I must say it was the most thoughtful thing someone has done for me. In fact, I was so taken in by it that I decided to make it a part of my daily habits. When the cloud of unhappiness unsettles an individual, it these small acts of kindness that make someone’s day. When we can see the good and the bad, it becomes easier to encircle yourself with nothing but happy thoughts.

Now, I have become a part of this chain of gratitude. What better time than Thanksgiving to show some love? Try using the ThankU cards here – http://www.idothanku.demodemodemo.ga/#trycards
